Photo: Dr. Stephen FlynnThe opening keynote address will be given by Dr. Stephen Flynn, Professor of Political Science and the Founding Co-Director of the George J. Kostas Research Institute for Homeland Security at Northeastern University. Before arriving at Northeastern in November 2011, he served as President of the Center for National Policy. Flynn also serves as a member of the bipartisan National Security Preparedness Group, co-chaired by former 9/11 commissioners, Governor Tom Kean and Congressman Lee Hamilton.

The National Evacuation Conference is proud to announce that it will feature a special Nuclear Evacuation track, presented by Sandia National Laboratories! As part of this track, several breakout sessions are planned with expected presentations from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and Sandia National Laboratories related to evacuation planning, evacuation time estimate (ETE) criteria, and implementation of evacuation strategies in the areas around nuclear power plants.
